Andrew Klein (born in Atlantic City) is an American photographer who, for over 30 years, has been an artist who has expressed his creativity through sweeping images of the great outdoors. Between 1975 and 1977 Klein studied under Pops Kurland at the Jersey shore. Pops encouraged Klein to concentrate on perspective and to further develop what Kurland recognized as a uniquely incisive compositional eye. Although Klein had no formal artistic training he received encouragement throughout his career from his mother who studied at Philadelphia College of Art.
Deeply rooted in the love of American wilderness, Klein developed a highly stylized, graphically compelling form of panoramic art. This site is a culmination of Klein’s travels across America. Influences can be seen from both contemporary and classical fine art photography. Klein takes us on an adventure into places many people never get to experience first hand. He applies notions of naturalism, spontaneity, and chance through a layered application of time and space.
